DISCONNECT MOVEMENT

May 13, 2025 CriaziTeam Comments Off

Puzzle is now officially a representative of the Disconnect Movement.

The movement’s purpose is to unite families and schools to provide guidance and support in helping children live screen-free — both at home and in school environments.

Key Topics of Discussion

  • Smartphones reduce attention span, harm mental health, and expose our children to a world of things they shouldn’t — and neurologically or emotionally aren’t mature enough — to deal with.
  • We all know smartphones are addictive. For children, they can interfere with everything that’s good: playing outdoors, spending time with friends, reading, talking, and laughing.
  • Of course, technology is part of today’s world, and children need to learn how to use it. But they are not yet ready to have a healthy relationship with something that causes dependency. It’s already hard enough for us adults.
  • There are alternatives: many parents want direct contact with their children for safety reasons — but that doesn’t have to be through a smartphone. There are “dumbphones” and smartwatches designed for that.
  • Tobacco companies once advertised their products as healthy — we believe smartphones will be viewed the same way in the future.
  • Movies are regulated, video games are regulated — now smartphones and social media also need to be.

Feel free to share your experiences, changes, and questions.
